“Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.” (Alexander Graham Bell)
We firmly believe in the necessity of providing awareness and assistance to those who experience the stress and uncertainty of the United States Criminal Justice System; imparting much needed advice on how to cope and survive in the unfamiliar surroundings of prison. We believe that the anxiety created by being convicted of a criminal offence and the unknown journey into the Correctional System can be minimized through being informed of the potential obstacles a convicted person may encounter once sentenced. Through informed, current information and advice at the front end, a great deal of grief and unnecessary conflict can be avoided. Our goal is for our clients to do their time as smoothly and quickly as possible. We also recognize the need and importance of informing and assisting the family of the convicted person as to what is expected of them during this difficult period We recognize that it is not only the offender who serves time. In many ways, the family members of incarcerated persons also do time, they just happen to do it within the context of the community. Knowing how to navigate the system, avoid unnecessary conflict and minimize the impact of incarceration becomes the key to survival.
